Data-Basics' Advanced R&D Team Yields SAM Pro Enterprise Version 6.0 for Service Management Businesses

Latest Version Includes New Time-Saving, Revenue-Tracking Features

CLEVELAND — June 09, 2004 — Proving the strength of its research and development program, Data-Basics unveiled version 6.0 of its signature SAM Pro Enterprise software suite, which further enables companies to improve their business performance. Data-Basics, a leading provider of enterprise applications for the service and facilities management industries, has begun rolling out Version 6.0 for its current clients.

Best-in-Class Service Management Features
SAM Pro Enterprise Version 6.0 offers a number of new service management capabilities, including the Preventative Maintenance Master Scheduler – a centralized workbench that builds preventative maintenance billing, work schedules and tasking for multiple locations. For national accounts, managers can now set parameters and designate them for multiple sites, rather than entering each site's data individually.

The Gross Margin Analyzer automatically ensures that a company meets its target gross margin when producing an invoice and prevents it from exceeding pre-arranged limits. Another new productivity feature allows managers to enter costs into any part of the system and automatically have them reflected within the designated work order, thus preventing double-data entry.

Multiple dispatch board formats are now available, as users may choose from Power, Classic or Day mode – each equipped with color-coded, user-configurable options.

Back Office Multi-Currency, Revenue-Tracking Tools
Among the new back office enhancements, companies can now engage in multi-currency transactions. The addition of the current currency factor enables a firm to maintain its financials in the home currency while generating invoices and purchase orders in the foreign countries' currencies.

"Our customers with international clients and vendors are saving themselves a time-consuming step, as they can conduct business as usual without manually handling currency conversion," said Arthur Divell, co-founder and CEO of Data-Basics.

New labor job costing options allow companies to account for their cost of labor based on actual work and expenses. Previously, companies predefined job cost rates for each employee based on a combination of fixed expenses and estimated variable expenses, e.g., taxes.

In the purchasing department, the Auto-Purchase Order Generation tool analyzes current stock levels and automatically notifies a manager if inventory decreases to a pre-defined level. Pending manager approval, the system will generate purchase orders for the items that need re-stocking.

Version 6.0 will be implemented throughout Data-Basics' customers during the next few months and is available to new clients.
