The TimeAnywhere® Remote Time Entry Web Portal
Bedford, Ohio – July 22, 2016 – Data-Basics is proud to announce that TimeAnywhere is the recipient of the 2016 Gold Dealer Design Award for Services and Software. One universally shared challenge for service organizations is the recording and administration of accurate time entries for labor management. TimeAnywhere is a user-friendly tool for employees and a powerful management system.

The TimeAnywhere web portal was conceptualized in 2012 in response to the labor management needs of complex service organizations. Outdated, paper-based employee labor management practices were causing widespread problems for many clients. In the short term, errors were producing inaccurate new project estimates and incomplete cost to completion projections. In the long term, time entry errors led to profit losses, increased back office workloads, and employee dissatisfaction.
SAMPro Software is backed by an in-house development team and support department.
For management, time entries needed to be recorded throughout the back office and accessible in real-time when necessary. “This is why Data-Basics’ corporate headquarters houses its own development team as well as a support department dedicated solely to SAMPro software systems,” says Tim Carcione, Director of Development. Attention to detail when programming a new module is a must to ensure system compatibility. “Our in-house development team has intricate knowledge of all SAMPro’s service and accounting components, and that played a large role in producing the exceptional functionality and design of the new portal,” according to Carcione.
HVAC industry software developers must meet end user expectations in addition to the company’s overall data management requirements. While Robert Hodermarsky worked behind the scenes on TimeAnywhere’s internal programming, Technical Support Specialists Brett Sammons and Derek Lauro focused their attention on usability testing. TimeAnywhere needed to provide a user-friendly platform with remote access capabilities for field employees. “Field testing with an open line of communication for contractor feedback is the only way to be sure a product is actually user-friendly.” says Sammons. TimeAnywhere 2.0’s new features are a result of over two years of field testing with technicians, managers and back office staff.
Data-Basics and the 2016 Dealer Design Awards
“The Dealer Design contest is truly a unique award because it is the only HVACR product competition that is judged by the HVACR contractor, which is a true test for how good a product is,” said Kyle Gargaro, editor-in-chief of The NEWS. Data-Basics has been working with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, specialty, and national maintenance organizations since 1974 to produce one of the most industry-specific service management software systems available in today’s market.
