Arthur K. Divell, Jr., Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Art Divell, a founding partner, serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Data-Basics, a leading provider of Internet-based enterprise software solutions for the service, construction, and facilities management industries. Divell provides strategic direction for the company’s new market and client expansion. As Data-Basics’ Chairman of the Board, he works closely with the board and the company’s management committee to ensure continued profitability and revenue growth.Divell started his career as a hardware design engineer with Cleveland-based Chi Corporation. Following a Master’s Program at Case Western Reserve University, he served as the hardware facilities manager of the Department of Computer Science at the university. His 40+ years of experience with hardware and software systems were instrumental in his management of the company’s move to its Internet-based SAMPro Enterprise product, and the development and patenting of the Rules-Based Management™ software tool.
Divell co-founded Data-Basics in 1974 and from 1976 served as president and CEO until he appointed David Jack as President in 2000. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s of Science in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
David J. Jack, President
David Jack serves as President of Data-Basics, a leading provider of web-enabled enterprise software solutions for industries including field service, construction, facilities management, national maintenance organization (NMO), commercial food equipment service, specialty contractors, and telecommunications. Jack oversees the day-to-day operations of Data-Basics and provides leadership for the company’s future initiatives. He is also a member of the Data-Basics senior management committee.
With nearly 40 years of experience in software systems design, analysis and management, Jack has expertise in numerous markets including manufacturing, engineering, construction, HVAC/R, field service, facilities management, national accounts, and government. David spearheaded a company-wide initiative to better define and streamline business processes, which led to increased productivity.
Jack joined Data-Basics in 1982 as a systems programmer/analyst and later served as a project manager for Unix operations. He was appointed President in 2000. Jack earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer and Information Science as well as a Master’s of Business Administration from Cleveland State University.
Tim J. Carcione, Senior Product Engineer
Tim Carcione is the senior product engineering for Data-Basics. Carcione oversees new product development for SAMPro Enterprise, including identifying new client- and market-specific features to be incorporated into the software design. He also coordinates client implementations and support of SAMPro Enterprise. Carcione is a member of the Data-Basics senior management committee.
Prior to joining Data-Basics in 1990, Tim served as Vice President of the Corporate Car Care division of Equipment Merchants International (EMI). For four years, he held a number of management positions with EMI, a foundry equipment manufacturer. Previously at Foundry Listing Services, Carcione developed a new division for listing and publishing used foundry equipment, and implemented a new computer system for inventory control and listing services. Carcione received a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of Communications at Michigan State University.
