Sunday Evening Welcome Reception

The Connor Palace Theater

Cocktail Reception & Dinner

Don’t miss Sunday evening for the unique experience of dining on the stage of Playhouse Square’s second largest theater, the Connor Palace.

The last of the four principal Playhouse Square theaters (and the most expensive to build at $3,500,000), the Palace Theatre, renamed Connor Palace in 2014, opened Nov. 6, 1922 as the flagship of B.F. Keith’s vaudeville chain. The sign atop its building was “the world’s largest electrical sign” circa 1921. The elegant lobby was highlighted by a million-dollar art collection and another “world’s largest”…the largest woven-in-one-piece carpet.

The Connor Palace has showcased the likes of Fanny Brice, Bing Crosby, Houdini, Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra…

“Take Center Stage!”

Cleveland Playhouse Square

Private Theater Tours

After dinner enjoy the rich history, renaissance architecture and artistic beauty of Playhouse Square’s historic theaters on one of four private, guided tours.

With 10 stages and almost 9,000 seats, including the Allen, Hanna, Ohio, State, Connor Palace, and Outcalt, Playhouse Square is the nation’s second largest performing arts complex after Lincoln Center in New York City. The original five majestic theaters (built within 19 months of each other in the early 1920s!) have been transformed into a modern entertainment and economic center, and are among the best performance spaces in the U.S.

The 25-year endeavor to restore the theaters raised $53 million, and is today still the largest theater restoration project in the world. The Playhouse Square Tour shares an inspirational story of decline and abandonment in the 1960s, rescue and rebirth in the 1970s & ‘80s, and the continued dedication of the Playhouse Square Foundation.

Monday Night at The Corner Alley

Our Monday night dinner entertainment, The Corner Alley “Kingpin Event,” is a UGM tradition for electric atmosphere, state-of-the-art bowling alleys and delicious culinary creations! Enjoy refreshing cocktails and an extensive buffet while competing with fellow peers to become the next “Data-Basics Kingpin!”

The Hyatt Regency Cleveland at the Arcade

Cleveland’s Euclid Avenue has the nation’s finest collection of arcades. The most notable of these is “The Arcade” (often called the “Old Arcade”), built in 1890 with financing from John D. Rockefeller and other industrial tycoons. The Old Arcade features a five-story glass atrium with ornate metal decorative work, including fearsome gargoyles with red light bulbs in their mouths. It was renovated by Walker & Weeks in 1939 to include Art Deco facades. In 1975, it became Cleveland’s first building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Threatened with demolition, it underwent extensive renovation and redevelopment, becoming home to the Hyatt Regency hotel in 2001. Welcome to Cleveland, the Hyatt Regency and UGM 2018!

Our conference is held primarily in the Hyatt’s corporate business center (including catered breakfasts and lunches for all attendees). Convenient to our Welcome Meeting at the Cleveland Public Library and adjacent to additional UGM entertainment venues, we encourage you to book your rooms early to ensure you have the best experience at UGM.

Special Room Rates!

All of our guests have access to discounted room rates. See your Invitation Email for a link to our room block at the Hyatt or be sure to reference your attendance at UGM 2018 if contacting the Hyatt Regency Cleveland directly.

Don’t forget about…

Adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Arcade, Chocolate Bar has become a UGM favorite for relaxing with our guests (…and for their delicious hand-made desserts and martinis.)
