DATA-BASICS’ 2019 ANNUAL

USER GROUP MEETING

Welcome Reception at Severance Hall

The Cleveland Orchestra was founded in 1918 by a group of visionary citizens who believed in the power of music and aspired to deliver the best performances of great orchestral music possible. The opening of Severance Hall in 1931 with later acoustic refinements and remodeling brought a special pride to the Cleveland Orchestra ensemble and to our hometown by providing an enviable environment in which to develop and refine the Orchestra’s artistry. The Cleveland Orchestra quickly grew from a fine regional organization into one of the most admired symphony orchestras in the world.

Regarded by many music-lovers as one of the world’s most beautiful concert halls, Severance’s architectural significance has been recognized by local and national preservation societies including the Cleveland Landmarks Commission and the National Register of Historic Places. The Hall is also a recipient of the Honor Award by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. We hope you can join us Sunday evening to meet the Data-Basics staff, connect with fellow SAMPro users and enjoy the unique history and detailed aesthetics of one of Cleveland’s most cherished landmarks.

Cocktail Reception & Seated Dinner in the Grande Hall

Our Sunday evening venues are chosen to inspire the tone for our annual meeting! Beautifully illuminated at night, Severance Hall’s Grand Foyer was called “a gigantic jewel box” by journalists covering the opening of the building in 1931. Sunday evening begins with cocktails and appetizers served on the lower level of the Bogomolny-Kozerefski Grand Foyer followed by a seated dinner buffet on the foyer’s upper level.

After Dinner…Guided Tours of Severance Hall

Severance Hall was one of the country’s most advanced, state-of-the art concert facilities when it opened in 1931. The interior of the building presents an unexpected and vibrant combination of design styles, including Art Deco, Egyptian Revival, Classicism, and Modernism in addition to housing The Norton Memorial Organ. After dinner, private tour guides will walk you through the classic architecture and modern updates behind Severance Hall’s world-renowned acoustics.

Lolly the Trolley Shuttle Service to and from the Event

We welcome back Lolley the Trolley for private corporate shuttle service to and from our Sunday Evening Welcome Reception. Meet & Greet with Data-Basics’ staff at the Hyatt’s 1890 Lounge at 5:00pm on Sunday. Shuttle service to Severance Hall begins at 5:20.
